Due to the shared day camp/ day care facility at the Community Benefits Garden the Upper Perkiomen YMCA requires all participants of the garden to have background checks on file. The Upper Perk YMCA has generously offered to provide background checks at no cost to the volunteer. The background checks include criminal, child abuse and FBI clearances. Once the activity consent form is received your information will be submitted to the YMCA and you will receive an e-mail from AdvocateVerified@verifiedvolunteers with instructions to continue processing of the free background check.

Thank you to ALL of our volunteers and contributors that make these community driven projects possible!

Benefits Garden

Community Benefits Garden

The Community Benefits Garden is located at the former Upper Perk YMCA pool complex at Kistler-Bitting Park in East Greenville. The garden is staffed by volunteers that grow and harvest fresh vegetables for our local food pantry, The Open Link.

Sometimes financial setbacks occur with unforeseen circumstances and the Upper Perkiomen Valley Garden Club believes that nutrition shouldn’t suffer. The Community Benefits Garden strives to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to those who need it most. To learn how to qualify to receive fresh produce, visit:

YMCA Gardens

The Garden Club's fist year of operation worked with the new Upper Perk YMCA to design and build the driveway entrance landscaping utilizing native and self-sustaining plants, shrubs and trees. For 2018 the Garden Club in partnership with the YMCA are creating a butterfly and pollinator garden. The Garden Club will continue to work with the YMCA to pursue additional gardening and conservation activities on the 43 acres owned by them.
